COPENHAGEN, April 25th, 2018: Hugo Games (OMX: HUGO) began a new journey last year with the hiring of CEO Henrik Nielsen. At the General Meeting on Tuesday the 24th of April, it was decided to sharpen the company even further and make substantial changes to the board of directors.
Jesper Theill Eriksen, CEO of the successful Danish software company Templafy, has joined the board as new chairman. Jesper Theill Eriksen is characterized by strong operational experience and an impressive career. For years he worked in executive positions in the telecommunications industry before jumping on the fast-moving startup train.
That means that Hugo Games is going forward with a chairman who has extensive experience from both the traditional corporate world and the dynamic new software industry. CEO Henrik Nielsen is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Jesper Theill Eriksen in the new phase that Hugo Games is entering, where the company will publish several new and highly expected games.
“Hugo Games is launching a number of new games in 2018 and the expectations are really high,” Henrik Nielsen says. “We have been working on several games for years and now it’s time to see the results. But that also means that the company has entered a new phase where we need the right experience on the board. And in that regard, I’m very pleased that Jesper Theill Eriksen, a proven leader, has joined us. It’s great to have a new board and chairman that is capable of taking Hugo Games to the next level, where the company is as much a game publisher as a game developer.”
Jesper Theill Eriksen is already a board member for several companies and he is looking forward to working with Hugo Games.
“Hugo Games has some great games in the pipeline with big potential,” Jesper Theill Eriksen says. “Especially the new worldwide launch of ‘Kings of Soccer’ has potential to change the financial situation of the company. I’m looking forward to assisting Hugo Games capitalize on highly awaited games and making sure, that the company not only becomes profitable – but also stays profitable.”
The present board members vice chairman Caspar Rose and Kevin Terkelsen will remain on the Hugo Games board. Former chairman and founder Henrik Kølle is leaving the board. Members Bertel David Maigaard, Rasmus Lund and Richard Flower are also leaving the board. Richard Flower will continue his role as CTO for the company. CEO Henrik Nielsen would like to thank all the former board members for their efforts.
