Jon Goldman | Managing Partner

As Managing Partner for Skybound Entertainment, Jon is focused on new businesses initiatives for the company. He has an extensive knowledge of emerging technologies and the confluence of content. He co-founded Skybound’s interactive division which developed and produced the company’s highly successful games including: Scopely’s The Walking Dead: Road to Survival and Overkill’s The Walking Dead.

In addition to his guiding role at Skybound, Jon is a Board Partner at Greycroft Partners. Greycroft is a venture capital investment company focused on high tech and innovative business startups. In this capacity he is an advisor to several startups and a board member of the largest children’s participatory philanthropy program in the US. Previously, Jon served as board member and CEO for two portfolio companies of Jerusalem Venture Partners in videogames and online video.

He was a Founder, Chairman and CEO of Foundation 9 Entertainment, the largest independent videogame developer in the world with 11 studios and 1000 employees, ultimately selling the company in 2006. Jon started his career at a boutique investment bank focused on US-Asia strategic deals.

Goldman attended Harvard and graduated magna cum laude in Asian Studies, Phi Beta Kappa, as well as the University of Kyoto and an entrepreneurial management program at UCLA Anderson School.

David Alpert

David Alpert | CEO and Co-Founder of Skybound Entertainment

David Alpert is the CEO and co-founder of Skybound Entertainment. The company’s initiative is to act as a platform for creators and their intellectual properties, to extend their stories through varying mediums including comics, television, film, tabletop and video games, books, and beyond. As CEO, Alpert oversees operations, creative development and production, and strategic business initiatives for the company and its ventures.

Alpert is also a prolific producer across television, film, and digital series. His television credits include The Walking Dead, (and its spinoffs), Outcast, Dirk Gently, Locke & Key, Dead by Dawn (the first-ever nature horror docu-series), and Super Dinosaur (an animated children’s series based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book of the same name). Alpert will also be serving as an executive producer on the upcoming series Psi Cops with Adult Swim Canada, Demon In The White House for Discovery, and the feature film Renfield directed by Chris McKay with Universal. His other film credits include American Ultra, AIR, and Spare Parts. He also serves as executive producer on the animated hit series, Invincible, which has been renewed for a 2nd and 3rd season at Amazon and is in development for a live-action film adaptation at Universal.

Alpert was a winner of the 2021 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award.  He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and is an honors graduate of Harvard University and New York University Law.

Henrik Nielsen

As a member of the 5th Planet Games board of directors, Henrik Nielsen brings deep experience in what it means to start and grow technology companies from founding teams to $1 billion+ in revenue. He is a hands-on executive who takes a data-driven approach to driving results and has a proven track record of successfully growing companies multi-nationally in Europe, U.S. and Asia.

Henrik previously served as the CEO of 5th Planet Games from October 2017 until January 2021, overseeing the daily operations of the company and ensuring its continued evolution.

From 2008 to 2015, Henrik was the Group COO & CFO at Unity Software with responsibility for growing and leading the global company on all levels, including P&L oversight for the entire group. He was ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the company’s long and short-term plans.

Before that, Henrik spent 7 years at Dell, where he was the head of various business units. Among others, he led Dell’s Solutions business in the EMEA region, overseeing international movement of sales operations to India and Dell’s HSMB site in Copenhagen, serving the Nordic countries.

Henrick holds a Master of Science degree in Marketing and Strategy from Copenhagen Business School.

 

Søren Kokbøl Jensen

Søren brings more than 30 years of successful gaming industry experience, whereas the last 10 years have been within mobile gaming. Søren has substantial experience with digital business models, product development, and monetization strategies.

Mark Stanger

Mark Stanger, General Manager EMEA, Skybound Games

Mark Stanger is the EMEA General Manager for Skybound Games. In this role he focuses on international retail activity and oversees the European based team. He also supports commercial activity across merchandise, board games, and events.

Prior to joining Skybound Games, Mark completed over 25 years’ experience in games publishing. From the pioneering days of Philips CDi and the first home entertainment systems, Mark went on to join the ranks of Microprose in the early 90s as video games started to become an established entertainment category with games such as Civilisation, Railroad Tycoon and the X-Com series; from Microprose Mark joined Eidos where we initially focused on International distribution and licensing activity and the development of brands such as Tomb Raider, Championship Manager and Hitman. In 2002 Mark was asked to lead the creation of the Eidos New Media Group as they became one of the first publishers to focus on emerging online and mobile technologies.

Since leaving Eidos in 2004 Mark has remained fully involved in the European Video Games scene with several long-term consultancy contracts with the likes of Warner Bros, Samsung, and Kontagent. In recent years Mark’s work with Multiplay and Game Group has focused on the commercial development of gaming events and eSports.

Mogens Agger

Over 20 years of experience in the Digital Media industry with a career-long record of building partnerships and creating business development within mobile games, computer games, licensing and digital products.

Been CCO in two successful exits in the gaming industry.

For the past years responsible for the business development strategy, planning and operations of 5th Planet Games (former Hugo Games). Key responsibilities include creating visions for the IP-based games, potential partnership outreach, partnership agreement negotiations and day-to-day partnership relationship management with:

• Moulinsart (Tintin Match mobile game)
• Cristiano Ronaldo (Kick n’ Run game)
• Nyjah Huston (Nyjah Huston Skatelife mobile game and Nyjah Huston Skate for Gold slot game)
• MGM (soon-to-be-launched mobile game based on the HBO-series Vikings)
• Lima Sky (soon-to-be-launched Doodle Jump 2 mobile game)

Responsible for contact to app store feature teams, ad networks, partners within subscription based gaming and HTML5 games.

In addition to the above architect behind the vision of successfully leading Hugo Games into the online casino market. An achievement realised through a global strategic partnership with Play N GO based on the Hugo franchise and the Nyjah Huston franchise.

Represented 5th Planet Games (former Hugo Games) in the establishment of partnership agreements with eight of the world’s leading football clubs covering the company´ss  mobile soccer game ‘Kings of Soccer’. These include FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Dortmund and Liverpool.

Led the company’s venture into the Chinese Android market by securing partnership agreements with two leading Chinese publishing businesses until today.
