COPENHAGEN, August 20th, 2018: Hugo Games (OMX: HUGO) is pleased to announce that it has officially launched the game “Ronaldo: Kick’n’Run” on the Facebook Instant Messenger platform.

This means that the 1.3 billion users of the Facebook communication and entertainment app now have the opportunity to play an action-packed 3D-game featuring the world’s best-known athlete – the great Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

As a mobile game “Ronaldo: Kick’n’Run” has already been downloaded more than 10 million times. Hugo Games’ CEO Henrik Nielsen is honoured to be working with the Facebook Instant Messenger team and thereby being able to bring the game to even more football fans.

“We are extremely proud to have been chosen by the world’s biggest social media to work on a platform which is increasingly defining the future of gaming,” says Henrik Nielsen. “It’s thrilling to be among the game producers who are selected to push the limits of the Instant Messenger platform, and we are very happy with the result. We have now successfully released a 3D-game featuring the world’s greatest footballer on the world’s biggest social media and communications platform.”

Henrik Nielsen calls the timing of the release “perfect” because Cristiano Ronaldo is on everybody’s mind right now. The soccer star left Real Madrid during the summer and is now scoring goals for the great Italian Serie A club Juventus.

This has already caused quite a stir on the social media. His transfer has boosted the combined Juventus social media followers five times to more than six million, according to the German analytics bureau Result Sport. Ronaldo himself has more than 300 million followers. This gives Henrik Nielsen great confidence in the reach of the game and the possibility of a viral effect through Facebook and Instant Messenger.
The launch on the platform means that people can play the HTML5 version of the game directly in the News Feed or Messenger conversations, on both desktops and mobile devices. The competitive elements of the game are supported by the Facebook social features, allowing players to invite friends, share scores and compete against each other.

“Ronaldo: Kick ‘N’ Run” is an endless runner type mobile game with 3D-effects. It was released on mobile platforms in 2016 and has an overall gamers rating of 4,7 out of 5 on the App Store.
