Mark Stanger will become the new CEO of 5th Planet Games after Skybound Entertainment invests $10,5 million in the Danish video game publisher. Stanger most recently served as the EMEA General Manager and VP of Sales and Operations at Skybound Entertainment. Mark brings over 25 years of European Games Industry experience to the role, including his work developing the Tomb Raider, Championship Manager, and Hitman franchises at Eidos Interactive and more recently in building Skybound’s games business across the EMEA region

Mark Stanger expressed excitement for his new role and the opportunity that it represents for both companies, “the Nordic region has an amazing history in the global games industry in terms of development, publishing, and the creation of some truly amazing global IP. I’m excited about the potential offered by the Nordic region and the collaboration with Skybound, as 5th Planet Games continues to build its global games business from Copenhagen”

Stanger will take over the role of CEO from Caspar Rose.

Strengthening Board Leadership

In addition to Mark Stanger, Jon Goldman, Managing Director of Skybound Entertainment will become Chairman of the 5th Planet Games Board; Jon currently combines his role at Skybound with his work as a Board Partner at the Venture Capital Group Greycroft. David Alpert, CEO of Skybound  Entertainment also takes a seat on the board of 5th Planet Games.

Henrik Nielsen and Soren Kokbøl Jensen will continue to serve on the board, sharing their extensive knowledge and experience in helping to guide 5th Planet Games on its new adventure.

With Jon Goldman as Chairman of the Board, Henrik Nielsen, David Alpert and Søren Kokbøl Jensen as board members and Mark Stanger’s entry as CEO, the team is set to take 5th Planet Games to new heights after a major investment from Skybound Entertainment.
