QA Engineer

The QA Engineer takes on responsibility for the QA process on iOS and Android to ensure high quality games are delivered with great gameplay experience. Leading or assisting QA on a project they will be working closely with the development teams to ensure issues are reported accurately, in a timely fashion, and that the product is of high quality for release. They will work to direct an outsource team on tasks and tests. The QA Engineer will also work closely with the QA Manager to deploy best practices for their project.

The QA Engineer is the primary point of contact on a project’s QA, reporting on issues, risks and concerns to the team. They are proactive, seek to apply QA knowledge and principles to the testing efforts and prioritise the work. They should be a strong voice for QA and provide perspective based on experience, QA metrics and data, and be constantly involved in how we improve the project.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience on a QA on a project in an embedded environment or with some leadership/delegation elements.
  • Understanding of software QA and games development practices and terminology e.g. JIRA / Confluence, version control, regression, integration, versions.
  • Experience of working in all stages of the QA and project life-cycle.
  • Has worked with version control software and within development branches.
  • Experienced with agile methodologies
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and best practise.
  • Ability to use JIRA or another reporting software to track QA metrics.
  • Strong initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or function independently as required.
  • Thorough understanding of iOS and Android hardware and software including SDKs.
  • Awareness of mobile games market on iOS and Android.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Passion for gaming.

This is a full time position and we will not be processing applications to work in a freelance capacity.
