We can hardly believe it ourselves, but Legacy of a Thousand Suns (LotS), our social sci-fi MMORPG game, is turning two years old this month. When it first launched on Facebook in 2010, it was hailed as a “significant step forward” for the text-based RPG genre, but little did we know then just how passionate, dedicated and downright awesome its fanbase would become.

A lot has happened in the two years since LotS first launched. We’ve added new content, new features, new zones, new raids and much, much more. And to celebrate, we are pulling out all the stops.

We don’t want to give anything away, but lets just say it will be a month-long celebration involving weekly world raids (with special twists), a treasure hunt, a comic drawing contest, and more. To read more about it, you can view our LotS community manager’s “State of the Game” update here.

We’ve also added two brand new special anniversary-themed mini-zones to the game, which can be found just after beating zone 3. The new zones will explore the backstories of some of the most memorable, fan-favorite characters, such as Illaria, Flashheart, Rautha and others.

It’s amazing to think back on all the intergalactic battles that have been fought, all the epic storylines that have unfolded, and all the social gamers that have given so much of their passion to making Legacy of a Thousand Suns such a success.

Today, LotS is played on Facebook, Kongregate, Armor Games, and its own web site. If you haven’t played it yet, we urge you to go to one of these sites now and join in all the fun, and help us celebrate the next two years!

Remember when you were kids, and amused yourselves by colouring things in? We’ve put up pictures of some of the armour sets you’ve seen in the game. You’ll take one or more of these (each player can submit up to three entries) and repaint them in colours of your choosing.

The five winning entries (one chosen by a public vote, the other four selected by us) will be given to the art team, who will then turn their colour schemes into new in-game sets. These sets will be made available through quests, raids etc. — but each winner will receive a copy of their set at least a week beforehand.
